We are a small kennel located on 30 picturesque acres just north of Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, Australia.
The picture above is a September (Spring) rainbow.
Originally starting with Siberian Huskies in 1992.
We obtained our first Shiba in 1996. Coming from the original Glendalin lines, 'Keiko' was shown to her Australian Championship then retired to live the life of a Queen. Her very plesant disposition had us hooked on the breed. Our second Shiba was 'Yogi'. He became Aust Grand Ch Koketsu Kuma and was one of the most prolific winning Shibas in Australia. He was competitive in the Utility group and a multi Best In Show winner . Yogi's show results can be seen on his page.
We have owned and exhibited 11 Australian Champions to date. Other achievements include 3 Best In Shows, over 25 Best In Group wins and our class in group wins are numbered at around 160. Add to this 15 'Royal' Best Of Breed awards obtained in most Australian states. These Royals include Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide.
We have some exciting new plans for the coming year and are looking forward to the future with the new guard.
Breeding at Yukan is kept to a minimum allowing all Shibas to be raised and kept in our home.
Puppies are available occasionally and preference is given to loving pet homes.
